Introduction to Orbital Mechanics Online Course

Course Contents

Prerequisites:

Space Science Background

This course aims to draw the initial outlines of space exploration by studying astronomical dynamics. And how celestial bodies move in different orbits, stand on the basic laws of motion that govern the motion of the satellites. Then, describing the basic principles of the motion of celestial bodies. Elements that define the shapes of the orbits will be discussed, and what are the different formulas to define the orbital elements, and the importance of each orbit. Coordinates systems to describe the orbit will be discussed in this course. Learning about the different types of satellite tracking. The course will illustrate the forces that influence the movement of the satellite. Then prediction of the satellite future position will be discussed using the numerical methods. At the end of this course, the student will be able to understand the orbital motion of satellites.
